Does artificial grass get hot?
Yes, unfortunately due to the colour it does get quite hot on hot days, but cools quickly with water and more dense grass types stay cooler underneath than less dense types.
Does artificial grass smell when dogs pee?
Dog urine crystallises when it dries and then becomes difficult to remove and seats to smell. We stock a grass sanitiser which breaks down the crystals allowing the urine to be washed through the turf.
Can artificial grass be laid on concrete?
Yes, as long as there is adequate drainage slope and somewhere for rainfall to run off to.
Can dogs dig through artificial grass?
It would be pretty difficult for them to do but nothing is impossible with dogs.
Can you park a car on artificial grass?
Yes, artificial grass will flatten under car weight but will generally bounce back to shape with warm weather heat.
Can you put a fire pit on artificial grass?
It’s not recommend to out a fire out close to artificial grass as it would likely melt it, a decent space should be out between fire outs and artificial turned areas.
Can you put artificial grass around a pool?
Yes, artificial grass is a great budget option for round pools, just be aware that it can get quite hot on hot days.
Can you put artificial grass on decking?
The grass Wodonga can be okay, but the decking underneath would be more prone to rotting with dampness and no air flow.
Can you put planters on artificial grass?
Yes, planters are fine to be out on artificial grass but may leave marks if left for long periods and not raised up.
Can you put tent pegs in artificial grass?
Tent pegs would possibly leave too big of holes in the artificial grass, our specific turf pegs or nails work better.
Can you see joins in artificial grass?
Yes, joins can always be seen. Better to have as few joins as possible. We carry the largest range of widths to avoid joins, stocking 2m, 3m, 4m and 5m widths.
Can you trim artificial grass?
Artificial turf is best trimmed carefully from the backing side with a sharp Stanley knife.
Can you vacuum artificial grass?
Yes, artificial grass can be vacuumed if dry. See vacuum manufacturer’s recommendations, garden specific vacuums would be advised.
Do weeds grow through artificial grass?
Weeds will grow along joins if joining tape isn’t used. Geofabric is recommended underneath artificial turf to prevent weed growth.
